Russell E. Palmer is Chairman and CEO of The Palmer Group, a corporate investment firm. He served for several years as Dean of the Wharton School, where he was instrumental in attracting over 100 new faculty members, building a new executive education program and complex, and raising over $120 million. He served for ten years as Managing Partner and CEO of Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte & Touche), becoming CEO at age 37, the youngest person ever to attain that position in a "Big Eight" firm. He continues to serve as a Director of Honeywell International, Inc. and The May Department Stores Company. Palmer is a member of the Trustees Emeritus of the University of Pennsylvania and a Trustee of the National Constitution Center. His articles and essays have appeared in BusinessWeek, The New York Times, the Journal of Accountancy, and other publications.
