The Bible is the living source of information correctly confirming one's religious/theological beliefs. Because the Scriptures can be interpreted from different approaches, i.e., literal, allegorical, moral, and mystical, it helps to have a reference that will equip you to know the difference. Past generations applied different concepts to their writing prose to enhance the message. Today, many of them are foreign to the contemporary reader. However, with the appropriate study one may not only understand those old styles but gain a real appreciation for them; hence, the value of hermeneutics. Although Hermeneutics, by title, seems a bit daunting, it is not. It is a key reference method intended to serve as a helpful reminder of the many tools we may easily forget for lack of use in Bible study. Nat begins with the learning of Roman numerals as an aid in developing essential Bible study skills. Example, learning Roman numerals does nothing for enriching the skill of Bible study but, it does exercise our minds through a checkable system. Not to mention it is much more rewarding to count sheep in Roman numerals when you are purposely trying to go to sleep.
