It is an amusing tale about an owl chick called Hiccups who has a hiccup problem. He has unlikely foster parents; a pair of vultures. They are kind but not very helpful in teaching Hiccups how to hunt. They are different because they are scavengers and their food often makes Hiccups sick. Hiccups is reluctant to leave the nest because of his hiccups and wobbly flying. When his foster parents leave him abruptly, he realizes he is without survival skills. Good fortune comes Hiccups' way, when a farmer cares for him after Hiccups crashes into a barn. Butch the dog, Smiley the cat, and the chickens are also part of the story. He is a barn owl and barn owls belong on a farm.

Several years as an interior decorator led her to import furniture from Bali, owning interior décor shops and boutiques. She designed women's gothic fashions for weddings and had them manufactured in India for a wholesale fashion business. They built and ran a child-care centre and sold the business nine years later in 1999. Her interest in children's books was revived since her family had grown. Later, Lynne became an international finance broker for large project funding. Her client base consisted of millionaire developers, lawyers, bankers, businessmen, divine healers, a guru, as well as a Peruvian numerologist. With this wealth of experience in high finance and international travel, it was only natural that she should gravitate to writing. Lynne has a love of gourmet cooking and epicurean food. She lives in Warwick, Queensland, Australia, with her husband and family. Lynne's time is divided between mountain retreats, art, writing, travel, and family.
