Autorenporträt
Because New York City was the place for a freelance writer to live, Jane Merrill began her career there. Now she lives in St. George and summers on the Bay of Fundy. Her branch of the Merrills were Maine forest clearers. Some left for the West after the Eric Canal was built and later returned. Her great-grandmother was a musical theater performer on Peak's Island, the family home. Jane is the author of many books, her favorites being about Aaron Burr's escapades in Paris, the iconic Parisian showgirl costume, the inventor-diplomat Sir Benjamin Thompson and the afterlife of Benedict Arnold.
