Pamela S. Salazar spent 30 years in public school education where she served as a middle school and high school teacher, department chair, assistant principal, principal, and principal on special assignment for mentoring and coaching new principals. She recently entered higher education, where she is an assistant professor and coordinator of the collaborative principal preparation program in the Department of Educational Leadership at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas teaching courses in instructional leadership, school improvement, professional development, and leading change. Her research areas include leadership, the principalship, and professional development.Pam has written numerous articles, chapters, and monographs in the areas of instructional leadership, professional development, and the principalship. She has made over 100 presentations, including district, state, regional, and national conferences, for both administrators and teachers on becoming more effective at creating high-performing schools. She is the coeditor of The Rural Educator, an international journal. Her editorial board service has included: NASSP Bulletin, NASSP Connections, Connexions, Journal of Women in Educational Leadership, Education Leadership Review, and the Journal of School Public Relations.Pam is married to Tom, and they have three children, Jason, Cortney, and Cresen, plus three grandchildren, Jason Jr., Ryan, and Jenna.
