The Ottoman Empire presented a lifeline to the Islamic world; It eliminated the Byzantine state and dropped its capital, Constantinople in 1453 AD, as Egypt was saved when the Mamluks weakened, as well as confronting Portugal when they wreaked havoc in the Mediterranean Sea, threatening the security of the Hijaz, and the Ottoman sultans continued to perform their role until he canceled the "Kamal Ataturk" the Ottoman caliphate and declared the republic in 1924. In this book, Youssef Asif highlights this important historical stage, by reviewing the most important works of these Ottoman sultans and their accomplishments that they gave to the Islamic world, as it deals with the historical events that occurred during the era of each of them. Moreover, the author also offers several lists that include the names of the sultans and the signs of that period for everyone who wants to see them. On the authority of the author: Youssef bin Hammam Asif: a Lebanese writer and historian, born in 1859 AD, learned Arabic and Italian and the principles of science at the "Mar Abda" school established by his family in Lebanon. He was appointed as a teacher in Acre, and he mastered during that period the French language. He traveled to a number of countries such as Italy and Turkey, and settled in Egypt, where he worked as a translator, and purchased the Mahrousa Press and its newspaper in 1876 AD, as well as established the public printing press in Cairo in 1888 AD, and he completed his education by performing the law firm in 1890 AD, and became a lawyer to the civil courts, and established Courts Newspaper. He died in 1938, after leaving behind a distinguished group of historical and legal books.
