It lays bare the emotional, economic, and social destruction ravaging a country once referred to as the "bread basket" of the region, through the eyes of those that stayed at home, and those that went away!

Autorenporträt

I was born in the White Waters area, nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Matopos, South of Bulawayo; Zimbabwe's second largest city, better known as the City of Kings and Queens. My writing has been deeply enriched by the stories of the scores of my fellow countrymen and women I have met on this forced sojourn in these foreign lands - driven away by the troubles haunting the motherland. These stories are told honestly and truthfully here and now, and if by any chance, I have not done this, I apologise in the full knowledge that at some airport somewhere, some bus depot somewhere, some tshisanyama somewhere; someone will warmly correct me, and give me some other version of the story! I believe we are on this journey for a reason, and a big part of that reason is to tell our stories! So, here goes!
