Prof Yuval Noah Harari has a PhD in History from the University of Oxford and now lectures at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, specialising in World History. Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind has become an international phenomenon attracting a legion of fans from Bill Gates and Barack Obama to Chris Evans and Jarvis Cocker, and is published in sixty languages worldwide. It was a Sunday Times Number One bestseller and was in the Top Ten for over nine months in paperback. Das Superhirn

Hat ein Historiker mit 35 Jahren schon einen Bestseller über die gesamte Weltgeschichte verfasst, bleibt ihm nur eine Wahl: seine Disziplin zu verlassen, die Richtung zu wechseln und über ein Thema zu schreiben, bei dem Prognosen einem verbreiteten Bonmot zufolge besonders schwierig sind. Die Rede ist von der Zukunft. Ihr widmet sich Yuval Noah Harari, der an der Hebräischen Universität Jerusalem Geschichte lehrt, in seinem neuen Buch "Homo Deus". Der Titel verrät schon alles: Im Zeitalter von Bio- und Datentechnologie ("Dataismus") verwandelt sich der Mensch in ein gottgleiches Superwesen, das den bisher bekannten Homo sapiens überflüssig macht.
