The general objective of this work is to characterize Crowdfunding as a platform to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and the transformation of the traditional banking sector in Colombia. At a more specific level, the work aims to identify the characteristics and potential of Crowdfunding in order to understand what this model consists of and its applicability in the current business context, cases of Crowdfunding in Colombia and Latin America are explored and finally, an attempt is made to warn of the possible challenges that traditional banking would face given the appearance of Crowdfunding.
