James Thomas Wright Jr., is an esteemed author of the book entitled How the Tears of a Bad Boy Made Him a Man. James is presently a respected South Carolina Police Officer with over 10 years of impeccable public service. Additionally, James is an accomplished U.S. Navy Veteran who attained the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer, while serving honorably for 24 years in the field of Security and Force Protection at locations in the U.S. and in several countries. James's academic and training background includes a B.S. in Criminal Justice, Grantham University, a M.S. in Performance Improvement, Grantham University, and formal certifications in Spiritual Counseling, Universal Class and Holistic Life Coach, Spencer Institute. James, an only child, was born in St. Petersburg, FL and raised in an abusive and challenging household. These conditions contributed to significant academic failures (e.g., two extra years to graduate high school), to his social challenges (e.g., becoming a parent by age 17), and to varied legal circumstances he experienced in his sometimes frightening, and often troubled youth. The same environment amplified the allure of negative role models, such as drug dealers and a pimp outside of his home, whom he admired and then emulated. James endured the unfortunate passing of two of his five children, and he acknowledges his own failings contributed to the demise his two marriages. His book serves as a personal mechanism for coping and healing and will serve as a useful self-improvement tool to help young and adult men growing up or enduring a similarly difficult state of affairs. James enjoys playing poker and admits to an avid golf addiction. Regards, James Thomas Wright Jr., M.S.
