Crystal R. Morris-Newsom was born and raised on the southside of Phoenix, Arizona which is where she currently resides with her husband and two children. She loves reading and writing but her other love is medicine. She sold her business and stopped working in the corporate arena to write full time. She graduated from Grand Canyon University with a BS in Human Biology and a minor in Behavioral Science. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with her MBA. Crystal is also a licensed real estate agent under her grandfather and employing broker Obadiah Jackson Sr. of Obadiah Realty in Phoenix. Poetry was just a way to express her feelings. She began writing only as a personal diary at the age of 13. She's compiled many poems over the last sixteen years. Her inspiration comes from her mother Carla Jackson- Morris who writes poetry as well, as a release or way of expressing herself. In addition to poetry, Crystal writes fi ction to curve her appetite for creative writing and nonfi ction in the form of self-help books for youth. She is dedicated to the encouragement of positive mental development and self love which is lacking in today's society.
