What does, today, and what will an HR manager do tomorrow? To do so, we embarked on a journey through the past, present and future of the HR management profession. Some professionals from whom we have been succeeded in the role and other professionals engaged in business support activities have been our traveling companions. Through the telling of their and our own experiences, we have tried to find the answer to the question. Some new paradigms of the HR function are proposed and the challenges that disruptive new technologies, ever-increasing digitization, and artificial intelligence will propose to the HR manager of the future are outlined.
