In a subsequent study, a design of the molecules carrying hydrazone or thiosemicarbazone, as well as a sterically-hindered ortho-diphenol moiety with bioactive metal ions in a single scaffold, is presented for the purpose of the efficient inhibition of a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi.
