The intent of poetry is to say something beautifully so that your words not only conjure emotions and feelings but also the images and symbolism itself. My intent is to communicate that empathy, compassion, and charity are not forgotten; that integrity, loyalty, and truth are not forsaken; and that real love is not extinct for those who would rather a desolate heart for the loss of love than a destitute life bereft of ever knowing. Autorenporträt
Stacey Butler was born in Pontiac Michigan to a Mother who was an avid proponent of integrity and morality; to a Grandmother who embodied wisdom and peace. Together their guidance influenced the basic underpinning of my, "I AM", Equation. The Authors' father, a Vietnam Aircraft Commander-Red Cross helicopter rescue unit, whose determination to save lives rather than take them and whose courage under fire is uncontested; taught him never to give up and to always seek the lesser of two evils. Last but not least, the Authors' Step Dad whose bravery during battle earned him the moniker, "Captain Cool Head Peters", due to the fact that he often read novels while his tank unit engaged with the enemy. From this man Stacey learned to love regardless of relation. He learned to separate how one feels and what is real. To stand resolute in the face of adversity. To remain calm in the face of chaos. As the experiences encountered in his life helped to guide the formulation of who we are so to the influence of these loved ones and many others have helped to shape the end result and Sum of My Equation.
