All children go through times of sadness and hopelessness just as adults do. In fact, we will all go through times of sadness and despair at some point in our lifetimes. it's just a part of growing up and living, right?
But sometimes depression can become overwhelming to some children. While many children may be able to work through their feelings and emotions and move on with their everyday lives, others may not be able to process those feelings that led to the depressive state to deal with the negative emotions in a healthy way.
I Feel Blue is about a child (who has no name). She is the child in all of us who has gone through a tough time, acted out, and just needed some help to nudge us along the way to feeling normal again. Many children are not given a chance to go through therapy, and as a child who suffered from childhood depression myself, I was fortunate enough to be able to talk to a therapist to help me bring my feelings into focus and find healthy ways to process my feelings. Parents can't always provide the support a child needs to get that break through. Children should know that talking to a professional is not a bad thing. It was a game changer for me!
So, with that being said...
