Autorenporträt
"Tanya Hamilton was born in Brooklyn, New York and has lived in Charlotte, NC over 25 years. She is an author, poet, playwright, storyteller and folk artist. She previously owned an art gallery (The Poet¿s House) where she exhibited emerging artist work and held open mic night poetry events. Her love for community and children has been a drive behind her short stories, poetry, songs and plays. As a youth director she produced a community youth talk show, as a daycare and after school teacher, she became a storyteller, and produced skits and plays to help children and their families see themselves and others through the characters she created. She often shared her poetry, and true life stories, at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Sheriff¿s Department, where she volunteered teaching classes, and counseling female inmates and youthful offenders. ¿I Love my Daddy¿ is her first of many to come published books. Please be on the lookout for more of Ms. Hamilton¿s published work, Grandma and Grandpäs Pumpkin Patch series, The Daring Little Whale, Poetry from My Soul, Get it together Sis, and more."
