This book comprises a brief study of the development of ideologie in France, where it was believed to be a scientific study of ideas. Thomas Jefferson was suitably impressed and took care to have Theology replaced by Ideology in the curriculum at his University of Virginia. His friend John Adams scoffed and dubbed the subject "Idiotology." A politician after reading this book may privately confess that he is an idiot for good reason. Serious students of politics may eschew factionalism and do the right thing.
