Hiram H. A. Cody, whose real name was Alfred Cody, was a Canadian writer who was born in Cody's, New Brunswick, on September 7, 1872, and died on June 9, 1948. He was a prolific author best known for his essays, short tales, and novels, most of which dealt with themes of frontier life and the Canadian outdoors. The untamed scenery and rich cultural legacy of the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Alberta, where Cody lived for a large portion of his life, served as inspiration for him.
