Shirley Simmons, in her life journey she has been a Model, Flight Attendant, Writer, Author, Poet, and addict. After her marriage dissolved and her children became adults, she was diagnosis with depressing and begin using drugs. In and out of rehabs and other institutions for several years, finally, with the help of God and her mentor she was able to gain sobriety in 1998, in addition, she quit smoking cigarettes four weeks later, a great accomplishment.

Now a born again Christian residing in , she is a student at El Camino College, majoring in Journalism, and doing volunteer work. She also does poetry reading through-out the and surrounding area. She decided to write this book to give the youth and others some positive principles, guidance, spiritual applications and mentoring tools.

Only through her personal relationship with God was she able to bring this book into fruition. She learn to overcome several set back in the process of writing this book; however, she would resort to affirming Bible verses and positive quotes repeating and believing them, whenever she found herself in a dilemma. She said God would bring her out of adverse situations each time.
