Dr. Ignatius E. Idio Sr. is the author of How to Eliminate Achievement Gap without Leaving Any Child Behind: A Handbook of Strategies and Best Practices, which was published in 2007. He also wrote and published the Effective School Leadership: A Handbook for Aspiring and Experienced Leaders in 2004. Dr. Idio taught public schools in Shreveport, Louisiana, Fairfax County, and Prince William County, Virginia. He also served as an adjunct faculty member at Northern Virginia Community College or NOVA, in Manassas, Virginia, for several years. In 2013, Dr. Idio was awarded a certificate in appreciation and recognition for continuous and loyal service for ten years. Dr. Idio lives in Centreville, Virginia, with his son, Ignatius I. Idio Jr. and daughter, Francisca M. Idio, together with the mother of his children, Edemekong Esema Idio (a registered nurse), from 1994 until she died of breast cancer on 6 May 2012.
