My name is Asher Feltman, and I'm so OCD. Yes, people say this all the time. But I really am OCD.
For 12 years, I lived a normal life, but in 2006, I abruptly and completely changed. My family and I struggled to understand what was happening to me until I was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder. That was just the beginning: Over the next eight years, I went to seven hospitals in four cities, desperately trying to find help for what one doctor described as "one of the most severe cases of mental illness" he'd ever seen.
This is the story of my battle with OCD - and how I managed to come out of it with a life worth living.

Autorenporträt
Asher was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Plano. From a young age, he wanted to be a professional athlete, movie star or sing in a band - you know, normal stuff. Whatever far-fetched dreams he had were shattered when mental illness entered his life at age 12. As he slowly regained his health over a decade-plus of hard work and hospital stays, he focused on a career in sports journalism and broadcasting, most notably working for the Frisco RoughRiders, Texas Legends, Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers. He eventually changed course and now teaches middle school social studies and coaches youth baseball and basketball teams in Phoenix, Arizona. When he's not busy working, he loves to watch movies, especially Star Wars (pre-The Last Jedi), Marvel (up until Avengers: Endgame) and the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy. Follow Asher on Instagram and Facebook @asherfeltman.
