I am an eleven-year-old girl who just finished primary. For five years, I have been living in Montreal, learning English and French. I was born in South Africa, and my first language is Afrikaans. Without my family, friends, and teachers, I would not have written this book. These poems inspired me by my grade-six class. I hope you will enjoy the poems, and I hope you will understand the same feeling as I did! Life doesn't come easy. You have to work to succeed! Keep your head up. Don't let the others put you down, and believe in your dreams!
