Sin is a corporate and cultural manifestation of separation from God. Salvation occurs through the invasion of God's grace, remaking common life. Robert Allan Hill is the dean of Marsh Chapel, a professor of New Testament and pastoral theology at Boston University, and the author of seventeen books. Since 1981, he has taught at institutions including McGill University, Syracuse University, Lemoyne College, Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, Northeastern Seminary, United Seminary, and in various church settings.
