Emma's suspicions are confirmed when she learns that the attractive gentleman from Trinidad is Detective Earl Solano, an undercover police officer. When Earl asks her to keep quiet about the drug deal she witnessed, she complies, only to further his investigation. Quite unintentionally, Emma becomes personally involved in the case. Even though it's the hardest thing she's ever had to do, Emma tries to ignore the attraction she feels for Earl so she won't be hurt yet again.

Earl's top priority is putting the bad guys away. And when the lovely professor is taken hostage, the bad guys don't stand a chance. Earl loves the law-but he loves Emma more.
