Eve Aiken is the author of the In the Shadows series. She works as a waitress in a large cinema, to be close to the film screen that she loves. Often her colleagues find her inside the cinema taking a glimpse of a movie to inspire her new story plot. She loves watching films and often finds herself researching further hidden plots and conspiracies that the films raise. Her favourite character is David Collins (Dane Steven) in The Guest.

Eve writes, with an emphasis on strong female characters, which are evident within In the Shadows, with the clever, determined, and resilient female protagonist Geraldine McComb; her evil and calculating antagonist and leader of the Mexican cartel, Claudia Montana; and the powerful and intelligent Dr. Weiling Ming. In the Shadows is fast paced, thrilling, action-packed and an enthralling suspenseful journey that juxtaposes small town American life, with the dangerous and violent criminal underworld. The story-line is easy to read and would translate well to the big screen!
