A study by the Pew Research Center found that 45% of Christians read the Scriptures at least once a week. While that number is encouraging, (almost half of Christians read the Bible during the week), the study also showed some pretty dismal numbers as well-33% responded that they read the Bible seldom or never.
And remember, this study was asking Christians, not the population at large, about their Bible reading.

By asking follow-up questions and praying over the day's Scripture, IN THE WORD gives readers a chance to think through what God has to say to them through His Word in a way that isn't overwhelming and fosters studying the Bible for ourselves.
