This book follows critic Dr. Muhammad Mandour focused on theatrical activity with criticism. He was careful not to adopt a sectarian approach to criticism in which he looked at plays from one point of view. He was also careful at the same time not to impose his taste on literary creation, in a subjective manner that might diminish the energy that this literary creation abounds with. It imposes itself even on its author himself, since it is, by its nature, independent of him in the outcome of the matter, even if he is its source. Dr. says Mandour: "I followed principles that together consist of the approach that I see and call for in criticizing our literary works, and it is the approach that best suits our literary production, especially in our contemporary literature. I decided that I should study the plays descriptively first, according to their subject matter, structure, sources, and what appears behind them." It is all part of the artistic vision in its entirety. Such a descriptive study provides artistic freedom for the theatrical work, and supports the critic's views by providing him with an objective vision in which his ability to contemplate fruitfully may be demonstrated, and it is the way after that to the fruitfulness of the literary work and its influence on the public, by establishing its connections with its readers. Helping them to understand, and involving them in judgment with insight, whether they later agree with the critic in his final judgment or disagree with him."
