Full research on Ventilator-Acquired Pneumonia in the intensive care unit during the covid pandemic
Objective: To evaluate the incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) in the anesthesia and intensive care unit during the covid pandemic, the germs responsible and any antibiotic therapy prescribed.
Type of study: monocentric retrospective observational study.
Patients:
- Inclusion criteria: all patients intubated and mechanically ventilated for more than 5 days between May 2020 and August 2020.
- Exclusion criteria: Patients with bacterial pneumonia on admission and patients intubated for less than 5 days were excluded.
