What does the concept of "Islamic aesthetics" refer to? What is meant here by the adjective "Islamic" that supposedly adds something new to our concept of "aesthetics"? Is what is meant here to indicate that we can find a science of aesthetics or even an aesthetic theory in the heritage of Islamic thought, that is, the thought created by Muslims? Or is the point that we can derive this knowledge from an aesthetic vision included in the Holy Qur'an, the constitution of Muslims? In fact, we find both trends in contemporary writings surrounding the concept or issue of Islamic aesthetics. If the first trend in presenting the issue is what is intended, then it is a legitimate trend or method in presenting the issue, and I am aware that it is, in principle, open to discussion that can show us the extent of the truth or falsity of its claims. But if the second approach in presenting the issue is what is intended, then it is an illegitimate approach in principle and self-contradictory. We will demonstrate our position on these two trends or methods of presenting the issue. This book provides us with a critical analytical vision that reveals the confusion between concepts in the writings surrounding what is called "Islamic aesthetics," and ultimately reveals the roots of this confusion, which lie in the errors of religious awareness that are common in our cultural awareness, and they are errors that reduce our view of the world and science to religion. And art, but rather our identity itself.
