This book seeks to analyse the various issues involved in and related with decentralised planning. The essays in this volume address the concepts of micro-level planning, participatory rural development methodologies and strategies. Participation of local people has been discussed in reference to behavioural science approaches. Decentralised planning has also been examined in terms of its financial aspects, environmental relations and has been linked to the concepts of agro-climatic regional planning, sustainable development, the function of the NGOs at various levels, and its impact on issues of gender.
