The aquaculture business is expanding globally as a result of increased worldwide demand for seafood and depleting wild fish reserves. Indian aquaculture is booming with the diversification of species, multiple production systems and the use of commercial feeds and additives which opened doors for many firms and entrepreneurs to enter into the industry.

This directory was created with three distinct goals in mind. To begin, it should assist the new entrants and multinationals that are keen to kick-start their businesses and operations in India. Second, aquaculture farmers must become familiar with current organisations, understand their operations, and obtain the products of their choice. Third, it should assist professionals in identifying companies for job opportunities or research collaborations. As a result, in addition to the corporate information, website links were provided to learn more about the companies, their management, and their vision and mission.

This directory is first of its kind in this sector and I have compiled information from many sources. Details may need to be added in the future to better reflect the ever-expanding industry and new competitors venturing into the business segment. I hope to categorize the companies under several criteria in the next edition to enable readers to better understand the industry.

I believe this directory will be widely used. Readers of this book are encouraged to give suggestions to help me avoid mistakes.

Autorenporträt

Dinesh has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aquaculture at the Mandapam Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture (MCeSA) of Tamil Nadu Dr.J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU), India since 2021. He undertakes strategic and applied research in the field of Mariculture, offering extension services to farmers as well. Dinesh completed his Master's degree in Fisheries Science with a special focus on Aquaculture at the Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) and his undergraduate studies at TNJFU. His research interests lie in Aquaculture and Aquaculture Nutrition. Before joining academics, he was directly involved with the shrimp production industry for five years as a Technical officer and Aqua feed formulator, working with different corporates. He has won prestigious awards and has authored several books and peer-reviewed articles. Dinesh serves as a reviewer for high-impact journals, and he's a member of various professional and academic societies.
