Marilyn Davidson is Professor of Managerial Psychology in the Manchester School of Management, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. She is author/co-author of 14 books on 'women at work', 'women in management' and 'occupational stress'. Three of her most recent books are 'Shattering the Glass Ceiling - The Woman Manager', Women In Management: Current Research Issues Volume II' and 'The Black and Ethnic Minority Woman Manager - Cracking the Concrete Ceiling' (which was shortlisted for the Best Management Book of the Year). She has been employed as a research consultant for numerous organizations and Government bodies, is a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Royal Society of Arts. Sandra Fielden is the Director of the Centre for Business Psychology, with interests in gender, diversity, equal opportunities, occupational stress, unemployment, small business success, psychological contract and organizational change. The Centre is involved in applied research and consultancy activities within the public and private sector, including European funded research into gender issues and economic growth. Sandra has written a number of book chapters relating to the position of woman managers and stress, and her first book (co-authored by Marilyn Davidson) "Managerial Unemployment: Threat or Reality" is due for publication in 2000. She is currently the editor of Women in Management Review and lectures in several areas of psychology, including 'Gender and Diversity', at Manchester School of Management, UMIST.
