On the other hand, there is a variety of potentials and innovations to increase its global competitiveness with sustainable, human-controlled AI on the basis of a European quality seal. This dissertation examines how a consistently pursued corporate digital responsibility approach can promote innovation in the construction industry 4.0 and thus provides ne ideas for digital corporate strategies. The study comes to the conclusion that the human factor forms the basis for shaping a socially sustainable digital transformation. It shows how innovative technologies can support people efficiently, productively, safely and sensibly. The responsibility that company management bears for this is explicitly worked out and key factors for the success of digital corporate strategies are presented, without neglecting the necessary legal, political, social and educational framework conditions.

The Author

Bianca Weber-Lewerenz studied civil engineering in Constance, Mainz and Stellenbosch, South Africa. She worked on construction projects in Germany and abroad. For seven years she has worked and lived in Beijing. Since 2014 self-employed with "Bianca Weber-Lewerenz Engineering". Doctorate until 2024 at RWTH Aachen University. Since 2019 she researches on "The Corporate Digital Responsibility in Construction - Ethical principles in dealing with digitization and AI".

Bianca Weber-Lewerenz studied civil engineering in Constance, Mainz and Stellenbosch, South Africa.

She worked on construction projects in Germany and abroad.

For seven years she has worked and lived in Beijing, China as freelancer, and founded her own construction consulting company "Bianca Weber-Lewerenz Engineering". From 2019 to 2023 and in close collaboration with Prof. Marzia Traverso (PhD) at the Institute for Sustainability in Construction (INaB) at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, following her dissertation project, she pursued research on the topic of "The corporate digital responsibility in construction - Ethical principles in dealing with digitalization and AI".
