Autorenporträt

"Valdi Ercolani nasceu em 1939, em Nova Esperança, Rio Grande do Sul. Mudou-se com a família aos sete anos de idade para São Borja, tendo sido engraxate, jornaleiro e projecionista no cinema local. Aos quatorze, foi morar na casa da família Goulart Macedo, em Porto Alegre, onde recebeu treinamento nas artes gráficas. Aos vinte e dois, viajou para Los Angeles (EUA) e de lá retornou a São Paulo um ano depois, atuando como diretor de arte na MPM Propaganda. Em 1966, foi para a Europa, onde trabalhou como roteirista de filmes publicitários nos Estúdios Moro. Em 1967 foi para Londres estudar cinema na London School of Film Technique. Em 1969, se mudou para Paris e trabalhou na agência de publicidade Havas Conseil como diretor de arte criativo. Retornou ao Brasil em 1972 e fundou sua produtora de filmes publicitários. Em 1975, produziu e dirigiu seu filme ""O Resgate"". Em 1990 fixou-se em Barcelona trabalhando com cinema. Retornou ao Brasil em 1992. A saga de Inocêncio começa a ser escrita em 2000, em cinco volumes. O ültimo deles foi lançado em 2024."
