Sequoia Ramirez was born and raised within Chicagoland area where she was raised by both her black and Latino family. She attended Dwight D. Eisenhower Highschool where she picked up an interest for the arts - ranging from live performance, spoken word, bassoon playing, and more. She spent her time writing multiple manuscripts before finalizing her first project, "Intro To Group Therapy", within two months when she was 19 years old. She has taken classes in acting, directing, and scriptwriting. She hopes to leave a meaningful impact on others as she thinks her Grandmother, Winkie, would have wanted. Her work is largely inspired by the women who have graced her life.
