No end of Christians are confused. This shouldn't happen because, if Christianity is true, and we Christians insist Christianity is the True Faith, then Jeremiah 31. 31-34 is true. Jeremiah 31. 31-34 says even the least of God's people will have the New Law inscribed on their hearts. If you have the Divine Law inscribed on your heart then you won't be lost and confused. If you are lost and confused then you don't have the Divine Law inscribed on your heart.
John 14. 23-26, Matthew 16.13-19, and Ephesians 4. 4 tell us it is a heresy, a satanic lie, to say there is no True Church, or to say there is more than one True Church. St. Paul's phrase "there is one body" in Ephesians 4. 4 means there is one True Church.
Start with the Roman Catholic Church. Rome is either lost in heresy or else Rome is not lost in heresy. Rome either leads people to Heaven or else Rome doesn't lead people to Heaven.
The Russian Orthodox Church is either God's True Church or else it isn't God's True Church. The Russian Orthodox Church either leads people to Heaven or else the Russian Orthodox Church doesn't lead people to Heaven.
The Church of England is either lost in heresy or else the Church of England is not lost in heresy.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America is either lost in heresy and so it drags people down to perdition or else the ELCA is not lost in heresy and so it leads people to Heaven.
If you are a True Christian, a saint bound for Heaven, as opposed to a Phony Christian, or a Not-Quite-True-Christian, then you will know how to find the True Church. And you will know how to identify false churches which are lost in heresy and so they lead people to perdition.
John 6. 53-55 says in so many words that you must partake of Holy Communion in order to attain Heaven and escape perdition.
And 1 Corinthians 11. 27-29 says you drink damnation into your soul if you celebrate Holy Communion in an unworthy manner. I'm pushing the idea that to avoid drinking damnation into your soul you must not share the bread and the wine with anyone who is openly promoting evil or Anti-Christian things. So very many churches give the bread and the wine to anyone who bothers to show up. If you know that someone is a Sabbath violator, or a pro-choicer, or a pro gay marriage person, or an LGBT heretic, then you are drinking damnation into your soul if you partake of Holy Communion with that person.
Churches lose $$$ when they excommunicate people. But churches become false churches when they trample on 1 Cor 11. 27-29 by refusing to excommunicate people who must be excommunicated.
Rome teaches the doctrine that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. 2 Thess 1. 8 mentions hellfire for those who don't know God and who don't obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ. True Christians understand that you don't know God if you think the false god of Islam is the True God.
Galatians 1. 8-12 says even an angel from Hell is accursed if he alters the doctrines which St. Paul learned directly from Christ. Luke 13. 3 - Repent or Perish. Revelation 20. 12-15 - we're judged by our works at the Last Judgment. Make sure you get your name written in the Book of Life! If your name is not found written in the Book you get tossed into a lake of fire. And of course there's 1 Cor 3. 16-17, 1 Cor 6. 9-10, Matthew 25. 31-46, Luke 16. 19-31 etc. Lots of scriptures on Hellfire! Malachi 4. 1 - the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the proud and wicked will be set afire. James 2. 17 - faith without works is dead. St. Paul is clear: one is saved by faith not by works, but if one doesn't have good works then one's faith is not legit. Ye shall know them by their fruits. James 1. 26 - if you don't bridle your tongue your religion is useless. If your religion is useless then it won't deliver you to Heaven.
