Reji Kumar Pillai is the President of India Smart Grid Forum and Chairman of the Global Smart Grid Federation (GSGF). He plays a pivotal role in electric grid modernization in India. His current research projects include WiFi as Last Mile Connectivity Solution for Smart Metering; Smart Grids as Anchor Infrastructure for Smart Cities; Development of Smart City Maturity Model; Grid Interactive Buildings and Campuses Blockchain Applications for Utilities; Future of Transportation; and Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Standards and Policies.
Girish Ghatikar is a seasoned smart-grid, demand-response, and clean-energy and clean- transportation technology innovator. Over the years, he has successfully led technology development for electric grid transactions and automated demand response, enabling California to adopt dynamic pricing programs and mandatory automation in building codes. Rish Ghatikar’s work has appeared in over 70 publications and he is regularly asked to provide expertise at international events.
Pradeep Kumar Yemula is an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad). His research interests are in the area of smart grids, power system control centers, information technology architectures, ontologies for power system events, common information models (CIM), interoperability and standards.
Samir Chaudhuri is a thought leader in the field of enterprise transformation in the dynamic scenario of the Indian power sector. With a career of over 37 years, his experience encompass a wide spectrum of technology domains e.g nuclear power, electric power transmission, e-governance of transmission utility, and smart grids. As Head of the IT department, he has pioneered the convergence of information technology(IT) and operational technology (OT) through integrated information set-up.
Ravi Seethapathy after a 35+ year career in the electric utilities and power systems area (the last 10 years as Technical Head of Smart Grid and R&D), Ravi Seethapathy is now an advisor to the academic/utility/industry sectors and sits on the boards of Smart Grid Canada, India Smart Grid Forum, and Biosirus Inc. His current international technical activities include (1) Cigre Convenor WG C6.28-Remote Islanded Grids; (2) IEA PVPS Task Force 14 – Large Scale Solar Integration; (3) IEC TC 120 – Energy Storage; (4) IEC SEG4-LVDC; (5) India Smart Grid Forum – Member, Urban EV Mobility Study - Kolkata; and (6) India Smart Grid Forum – Chair WG5 (Renewables and Microgrids).
Vijay L Sonavane has 42 years’ experience in the Indian power sector. He is currentlly an advisor to the ISGF, and Director (Projects) at MSEDCL Mumbai. He is a member of the team studying the impact of EVs on grids for the Model Draft Smart Grid Regulations. He is a former member of MERC. He serves as a guide/mentor for Ph.D, MTECH, MBA Scholars
S.A. KHAPARDE is a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has authored more than 200 research papers and two books. He is the editor of the International Journal of Emerging Electric Power Systems. He is consultant to Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission, and the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. He is a BIS LITD-10 committee member, and Chair of Working Group (WG3) on CIM. He is member of board of governors at ISGF.
