'Ishq' is the story of two very innocent young man and woman, who don't know about their caste, belong to the lower class, who are trapped in a male-dominated and exploitative network of people of power. Despite all women-centered debates and revolutions related to the empowerment of women, they are still not free and independent. In this capitalist and ultra-modern world they are still being exploited from all sides in a net of male-dominance. Inside their homes they are trapped in feudalistic values of what is dignified and what is prestigious for the family and in the office they are forced to undergo mental and physical exploitation in a set-up that still considers them inferior to the males. In this story, the female protagonist, Sumitra is gradually coming out to invoke the Durga inside her to fight against these feudalistic values that have chained her and how she removes the curtain of idiocy of her faithful servant, Konda and how she used him as a weapon.
