Scrolling through the book, one might think that this is a private history of the village of Dzhiginka in southern Russia, which is of interest only to its natives (including the authors) and their closest neighbors. However, having started reading and following the storytellers, carried away by unraveling the intricacies of the fates of the heroes, we understand that, using the example of one German colony, the authors managed to show the thorny path of the Germans in Russia - from the first settlements that arose under Peter I and Catherine II to the present. And if, after reading to the last page, you close the book and think, it turns out that this is a story about strong-willed people. If they are not interfered with, they will establish such a way of life that they will be able to overcome any obstacles and achieve any goals without any help from the state (and even in spite of the obstacles placed by them).
