Autorenporträt

Robert Neff has lived in Japan off and on since 1960, when he arrived as a 13-year-old with his missionary parents. Over the years, he has visited several hundred hot springs, bathed in about 200, and stayed at close to 150. Neff has personally been to every inn featured in this book. He arrived in Japan for the fourth time in 1989, and is Business Week's Contributing Editor in Tokyo.
