Martin S. Cohen, born and raised in New York City, lived in France, Israel, Germany, Western Canada, and Southern California, before returning to New York in 2002. The author of four previous novels and many works of nonfiction, as well as short stories and scholarly essays, Cohen serves as the rabbi of the Shelter Rock Jewish Center in Roslyn, New York.
