John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury was the last of the celebrated English commanders of the Hundred Years' War. A.J. Pollard is a leading historian of late medieval England who is probably best known for his recent work on the reign of Richard III. Among his many publications are Richard III and the Princes in the Tower, The Wars of the Roses, and Late Medieval England. His latest book is Imaging Robin Hood: The Late Medieval Stories in Historical Context. Professor Pollard teaches medieval history at the University of Teesside.
