Yasmin Joseph was nominated for the Evening Standard's Most Promising Playwright Award and won the James Tait Black Prize for Drama 2020 for her debut play J'Ouvert (Theatre503). She has been a writer-in-residence at Sister Pictures and on attachment at the Royal Court Theatre as part of the Channel 4 Playwrights scheme.
