Autorenporträt
André Trantraal is a writer, illustrator and translator. He is the author of the comics Stormkaap and Coloureds as well as the award-winning Keegan and Samier series. His comics, written in both Cape Afrikaans and English, have appeared in Beeld, Die Burger, Rapport, Cape Argus, Cape Times and have been exhibited in Hamburg, Amsterdam and Cape Town. His Cape Afrikaans translation of the multi-award winning middlegrade novel Ghost, written by Jason Reynolds, has been nominated for a UJ Prize and his English translations of the Cape poems written by his brother, Nathan Trantraal, appeared in an edition of the New England Journal. He is a pioneer in the promotion of written Cape Afrikaans.
