In the poetic play "Khusro and Shirin," Muhammad Farid Abu Hadid presents his poetic artistic vision of the legendary love story, as the play deals with the love story of Khosrow, Prince of Iran and its Crown Prince, for the Armenian Princess Shirin. The author takes inspiration from this story from Azerbaijani literature, and from the Persian Shahnameh, and works to formulate it in Arabic, preserving the essence of the original love story, which he concludes with the painful saying of Sherwayh: Oh his heart! I hoped, but I did not have the time I had hoped for. My heart is flowing with sadness.
