K. and Shelia attended Fisk University, where R. K. graduated. Shelia went on to graduate from Clark Atlanta University. R. K. and Shelia are each a parent of a boy and a girl. They are both divorced. Shelia is the author of Two of Everything, a book for kids about life after divorce. R. K. Bickerstaff is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and Shelia Hunkins is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
