Murder takes a page from a small-town Texas bookstore owner's latest book club pick in this cozy mystery by author of Lethal Literature.

Charli takes great pride in running one of the few independent, family-owned bookstores in

Texas. She vets everything carefully, with an eye to the eclectic tastes of the locals of Hazel Rock. That includes the Book Barn's weekly book club selection. This time out it's a mystery whose characters bear a striking resemblance to local citizens, including Charli's friend Sugar . . . who's the prime suspect when her real-life nemesis is found dead in a hotel's water tank.

With help from her pet armadillo Princess, Charli campaigns to clear Sugar's sweet name-literally-when the up-for-election mayor becomes a killer's next target. Murder and politics make scandalous bedfellows as Charli discovers that fiction may be fatal, but reality could be just as deadly . . .

Praise for Killer Classics

"Roberts has another hit with Killer Classics . . . The plot is deceptively intricate: there is a solid mystery in there. Fans of the series will be, once again, delighted with Charli's new adventure, and the poor souls who have never read this fabulous series can jump right in and enjoy this fun ride!" -Fresh Fiction

"Kym Roberts has created a highly entertaining story filled with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing. Her writing is smooth, fast-paced, character-driven, and humorous." -The Cozy Review

Autorenporträt
Three career paths resonated for Kym Roberts during her early childhood: detective, investigative reporter, and . . . nun. Being a nun, however, dropped by the wayside when she became aware of boys-they were the spice of life she couldn't deny. In high school her path was forged when she took her first job at a dry cleaners and met every cop in town, especially the lone female police officer in patrol. From that point on there was no stopping Kym's pursuit of a career in law enforcement. Kym followed her dream and became a detective who fulfilled her desire to be an investigative reporter, with one extra perk-a badge. Promoted to sergeant, Kym spent the majority of her career in SVU. She retired from the job reluctantly when her husband dragged her kicking and screaming to another state, but writing continued to call her name, at least in her head.
