Jane Smith is a jewlery and knick-knack designer who utilizes shells and driftwood from East Coast beaches. She has to makes several trolley trips of twenty miles to gather supplies, every two weeks or so. Her dream is to move out west and hopefully, find a partner with a gift shop or store she can sell her items at. The shop must be very close to the beach. She contacts a marriage broker and after a few weeks, they find a suitable match in Kitt Johnson, owner of Kitt and Caboodle, a sort of trading post right on the beach. After corresponding with Kitt, a match is made and she sets off out West to Northern California, with high hopes and thoughts of love, and business.
