Klaria thought she'd accepted her fate, until her niece arrives at Klaria's mountain home begging for help. Humans have spread all along the coast, nowhere is safe for the Crab-folk to come ashore. But there is good news. They've found Klaria's shell.

Can Klaria really return home, after all this time? But even if she does, what help could she possibly be to her family?

With a Masters in History and a fascination with myth and folklore, Heather's stories explore the past and the present (and occasionally the future) through the lens of the magical. Her short stories have been published both in Australia and internationally. Heather describes herself as a bookworm, a chocoholic, and a would-be hermit (if she didn't need to ferry her children to their myriad social events).
