A specific feature of complex vocational and professional education and training (VET/PET) is the need to situate learning in different locations and provide diverse types of experiences. This poses a major challenge for VET/PET systems and is approached differently by them. The aim of this Special Issue is to document current international research on connectivity and integrative competence development in VET/PET. Moreover, it intends to point out different research approaches in this area, to stimulate exchange between them, and to identify desiderata for future research.
